Look, its an IHOP. You know what you're getting. You're either going for a monster breakfast or a casual dinner/lunch. Its not haute cuisine, and you're not getting a dry-aged porterhouse here. You get standard pre-packaged style food and the usual pancakes. Sometimes the service sucks and sometimes its great, usually its just fine. I'm a fan of the crepes, I've got to admit. Considering how uneven the diners in the area are, this place is just fine.

Not happy with this place. Anything that had we ordered this morning, they didn't have. No apple juice! Really?! And the cinni-stax pancakes. They wouldn't make it. The bacon was rubber as if it was sitting there all morning. It just wasn't a hearty meal I was expecting to start my day with. Also, the bill came out to $30. for breakfast. I can go to a regular diner, eat double the amount for half the price!. But what can you expect from a chain diner? Not much.

Food isn't bad,....for an ihop. Long lines on the weekends expect to wait 20+ min on a Saturday / Sunday. Service is mediocre at best, probably due to the high volume. Manager seems under educated in restaurant management. Walking around with a knife and fork in her back pocket, not very hygienic, a customer mentioned it to her, she removed the "Roll Up" from her back pocket,... and then when the customer walked away she put it back. Scarry, because usually its the manager's job to educate the support staff on the do's and don'ts. Sorry, i don't want to eat with a Butt Fork..... Additionally they stack the dishes when they bring your food out, meaning that they try and carry sooo much that they end up putting the dirty bottom of a plate, right on top of your food. (this has always been one of my biggest pet-peeves) This place is in dire need of some real management and a good cleaning.

I know better than to expect the food I order to look like the pictures on the menu, but when someone overcooks my bacon (and it's not that crispy), undercooks my hashbrowns (it was just way too thick!), and undercooks the bottom pancake on my stack of pancakes (they also overcooked the top pancake), that's just a sign I can't ignore. Even though our waitress, Sarah/Sara, was super nice, I don't think I'll be coming back to this branch.

We used to make the trip up here because it was the best and least crowded IHOP around. Now it's more of the same like every other IHOP in New York with long waits and lots of screening kids with parents that don't seem to care. Oh, and they messed up our order the last 2 times we came. Couple that with the food being cold, egg shells in my eggs, and an MIA waiter... I would rather make pancakes at home.

When I was younger, I would always be excited whenever my family would take me here. However, in recent years, I'm starting to believe that this IHOP is now no more than a shadow of its former self. In a sense of the review itself, we used to be able to substitute pancakes with french toast with our meals, and never had to pay extra for it. One day, we are sitting in this IHOP as usual, then we wake up to a rude awakening; while we were ordering, we found out that when ordering something that comes with pancakes, we are supposed to pay extra for substitutions. We didn't know this before, despite going to this IHOP for nearly a decade (our past servers never charged us for substituting). Not only we were we being told this, the manager was pretty much being rude about it. Talk about ruining a decade-long childhood. Goodbye Hartsdale, Hello Kingsbridge.

Weird that my previous review somehow disappeared. Nothing has changed here. Subpar food and bad service. Slow, slow, slow and the staff cannot be bothered. I cannot see how this place will last.

Very fast and good service at this location. I really love the cinnamon swirl pancakes, but really anything is good on the menu since u cant mess up breakfast food! Parking lot is very small and if you go, its gotta be before 10am on a weekend as it gets really crowded.

Very sweet and on point waitress..I had a problem with my order and she went above and beyond to fix it...the manager came over and was very sweet as well..she wanted to make sure we were happy and satisfied..I'm so happy to know that there is great customer service regardless!!! Thanks to an awesome waitress Sarah and an awesome manager Ms. Nicole!!!

I really don't know what to say.... Went on a Saturday morning with a party of 4, and waited around 20 minutes. The food was okay BUT 2 of our orders came complete with a sprinkle of curly black hair. The waiter was nice and all but I really wasn't happy about the hairy food. 1 of the dishes had several pieces of hair in it. I might go back to Ihop but just not to this location.

Flipping the best pancakes on South Central since I was still learning how to learn the Ay Bee Cees. Even though some of the folks who fried up the comfort are gone, the good grub and staff still exist. If you see Carlos managering about in this busy cobalt house of wafting pancakes, put in a good word from Marc B. please =) . The speedy crew (who are not in any bit diminished by any crowd's particular size) makes iHop's revered pancakes from opening to closing, with the same exceptional quality stamped into each individual piece of compressed buttermilk. It's also their store tradition to oil up a fine pair of eggs, sausages, hash browns, or whatever greasy piece of early morning goodness you desire. You also got pigs in blankets, silver dollars, fruity flapjacks, and a bunch of other eye opening comforts on your moderately priced palette. Breakfast makes any time of day spectacular, wouldn't you agree? There's also an extensive menu of lunch/ dinner items. They are mostly good, but at times, can be dry - I suggest eating any non breakfast foodstuffs at some other joint. That is with an exception to their pancake and chicken dish, however. One big downside, though - the crowds. Especially on Sundays. Late sleepers, eight member families, church goers, dazed partiers, fatties, the starving youth, regulars, and munchie propelled stoners all gather here from late morning to early afternoon to enjoy the scrumptious brunch accompanied by this blue clad hut's convenient location. With the crowds comes cars and tiny parking lots; please keep that in mind. It may be best to steer clear of this certain time, or I daresay it, this iHop if you fancy eating seated (there's a far more inferior iHop a few miles on central from this location). Coming when it's not brimming with people will ensure comfort foodie satisfaction; I promise you.

Where has this coffee "bean" all my life? Today was my first visit to this iHop, and to any iHop in almost 20 years. The brioche French toast was as good as I expected but the decaf coffee far surpassed any expectations I could have had. I cannot remember when I last had coffee this good. And I'm very surprised that no one has raved about it on Yelp.

Terrible-found a hair in my food-really cute place too bad the ppl who work there are so sketchy ....

I know this isn't "haute cuisine" but it is great! We have been here many, many times and I wanted to be sure to let everyone know. The food is quite delicious. Calorific, yes, but absolutely delicious and decadent- especially the Patty Melt. Mmm. And you can have onion rings instead of fries with no upcharge! The side salads are good and the blue cheese isn't too bad either. The burgers are good too. Now, as you can see, I don't really like breakfast foods like pancakes, eggs, sausages, bacon, ham, etc. I know, I know, I'm at risk of being reported to the Committee on UnAmerican People but that's just how it is- I like breakfast cereal much better. Maybe it's because I'm from Battle Creek, MI (home of Kellogg's) but, that being said, the breakfast foods are very popular and everybody I know loves them. The service is just fine and the manager at this particular store has been there for quite some time and she is very nice and reasonable. She knows what she is doing and how to treat people. Go and enjoy! (if you can find a parking spot, lol).

We chose to eat here because not only do we remember the food being good, but the parking lot was close to empty. I was shocked because it was Valentine's Day, yet there weren't many people there. I guess people think Ihop is too low budget for such a special day and they had to pull out their best garments and have an abundance of cash on hand. I'm a simple kind of gal!!! You have to wait to be seated after you enter the establishment. Our server glanced at us 2-3 times before she acknowledged us. She asked us if we were waiting on a table. Umm...No lady we're just chilling here just because...duh. She wasn't too friendly but wasn't nasty. She just needed a how to be cheerful 101 class, a little too serious. The food wasn't too good due to the seasoning of the food. We had the appetizer sampler which consisted of onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and crispy chicken tenders. I had the big steak omelette and I definitely had to add salt to get some type of flavor. Our waitress gave the bill to us before even asking if we were indeed done. Ugh!!! Anyhow, I ended up ordering a vanilla sundae with hot fudge, cherry on top, and it was quite good. It was the highlight of the whole meal as well as the mozzarella sticks. My guy said how they don't hire cute women anymore. Ha, ha, ha!!! That's great actually. I love his humor...sometimes. I recommend pancakes when coming to Ihop. That's the dish they're best at.

Well this place has certainly racked up some 1 star reviews. First of all, it's IHOP. Long waits during pancake rush hour is standard. As for hair in food, I am pretty confident I've never seen that. And if it's happened, I was too busy eating my weight in pancakes and bacon to care. I love bacon. This IHOP has been home to some fond memories. I got my first and only speeding ticket driving too fast to get to it. Pancakes can be very exciting. "Son is there any reason you were doing 55 in a 30 zone?" "Yes officer, I want pancakes in my mouth immediately." Got the ticket reduced later in court! Anyways, the huge drawback to this IHOP is its parking situation. Holy bacon it's a disaster. A few cars can park right in front of the place, but only a few lucky souls get those spots. Others are left to fend for their lives trying to parallel park again fences. Otherwise this IHOP is not the better of the two. Three minutes away there is one in the shopping mall at the entrance to Yonkers (which is literally a straight line from this one). So frankly you might just want to avoid this one with the newer, bigger, easier to park at IHOP sitting a stone's throw away.

This place seriously sucks ass. If I could give it negative stars, I would. We went there because we were in the area and hungry. Can't go wrong with IHOP, right? WRONG. After we were seated, our limp-eyed waiter (it was seriously distracting...I didn't know which one was the "good" eye) took our order and then the clock started ticking. He came back a few minutes later with our sodas, then...gone. A party of five was seated next to us and waited on by another waitress with two good eyes, and they even ordered a frigging STEAK (who does this at IHOP?) and they got their food while we still waited for some pancakes and two omelettes. WTF??? Now at this point, I should mention that I'm a pretty polite diner. I don't believe in making a ton of noise to disturb fellow patrons if the environment doesn't call for it . I don't believe in sending food back unless it's truly horrible. And I certainly don't believe in treating staff like crap. I used to be in the same position years ago and I didn't like it when I was treated that way. This place was the exception. I tried to make eye contact with our waiter several times even if only to refill our drinks that had been long consumed. I thought I did, but obviously not. Eventually, the waitress waiting on the table next to us asked us in a bitchy tone "Can I HELP you with something?" I said "Yeah, I'd like to know where our food is". She immediately got flustered (I guess she assumed we'd been there so long we'd already eaten) and went to find our waiter. I saw her talk to him but he never came over. Now I'm pissed. I get up and walk across the restaurant and ask the guy "Where is our food? How many hours does it take to cook an omelette? Are you waiting for the chicken to lay more eggs?" He responds, and I quote: "It's coming, IT'S COMING!" At this point, I'm done. I return to the table to get my family and as I'm walking out, I ask the manager how much we owe for the two un-refilled drinks we had and he says "It's on the house." Gee, thanks, sporto. So much for trying to keep business and make a disgruntled customer happy. I love Yelp. It also bears mentioning that the table to the other side of us that was seated after us also didn't get their food before we left. They were also waited on by One-Eyed Guillermo and grumbling so I could only assume they followed suit not long after us. I think it's safe to say we wouldn't be returning. I recommend no one else does either.

Best pancakes around! Went here today after a doctors appointment nearby. I had eggs w/ mushrooms and tomatos w/ double blueberry pancakes. Eggs were fine, pancakes were pretty good. Service was fine until we got our food then it was non-existent. Food: 4 Service: 3 Overall: 3.5 rounds down

I never thought I would like this place because it is so dingy and shady and super crowded ALL the time. Well, I wish I hated IHOP because it doesn't do the body good! I abuse my wellbeing every weekend, after a night of heavy drinking, I come to IHOP and pig out, as in I intake over 2500 calories in one sitting. I order eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, corned beef hash and all that good stuff! Bottomless coffee to complete my meal.

I live in the area, so I go to this IHOP at least 2x a month. We (me, wife, baby) LOVE this place. Here's the trick - do not go on Saturday/Sunday brunch, and possibly avoid senior night. On off-peak hours, we get 5-star service, excellent food, and always always always leave happy. There is even a waitress who knows us by name (KT or Katie), and she is fantastic. We've had maybe one off experience, but that's out of a hundred. 99% of the time we get better service here than anywhere else in the area. Managers visit us to make sure all is OK, we bring friends and out-of-towners here, and we were even given a VIP card so we get 20% off on weekdays for being loyal. If you've had a bad experience, please give this place another shot. It's a great local business, and MUCh better than the newer IHOP down central ave near Yonkers. Besides, there is NOTHING BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKES FOR DINNER!

I went for breakfast with my family in November, and I was so impressed by the variety of flavors of pancakes, waffles, etc! I can't remember now exactly what they were, but I think they were seasonal, because I didn't see it on ihop.com when I went just now to look. I LOVE breakfast food, and it's always fun to try new takes on a classic. And, of course, IHOP is kid-friendly.

Hadn't been to an IHOP in years. The restaurant was tired. The grain was worn off of the laminated table top. It needs to be renovated. The servers were cheerful. Coffee was OK. We ordered a couple of combination breakfast. The food was OK. The meats had a cafeteria undertone to their taste that's hard to describe. Most of the combination breakfasts are around $10, putting the prices in reach of restaurants that are a lot more pleasant to spend time at. All else being equal, I would rather go to a diner.

If I could give this particular Ihop no stars I would. The service was terrible!! They started seating larger parties before people that had arrived BEFORE my party of 4. When we were finally seated we saw at least 5 other tables empty. Can't even say they were short staffed because there was 4 people up front at the hostess counter and 3 more chit chatting at the order machine. It took them an hour to bring out our COLD food although 4 tables seated after us were already eating and one was even waiting to pay. at which that point my husband and kids were already upset and walking to the car. When I asked to speak to the manager it took nearly just as long as it took to receive our food. Only to be told the kitchen was backed up no apologies just handed me the bill for our beverages. WORST IHOP EVER!! Definitely needs a new Crew!!

Never again! I hate to order napkins, water ,and hot syrup. These are the first things placed at the table at other iHops. Also a "hey is everything okay" would have been nice. Food was mehhhhhhh!!! I would rather troop it down the road to Yonkers !!! Ohhhhhhh and another thing no IHOP "splenda"!

I took my Daughter there for breakfast I walked in into very rude staff then we sat down I opened my silverware I almost threw up fork and knife where so dirty it was like they took them off someone else's plate and wrapped them back up and gave them to us,very unsanitary

Came on a Thursday afternoon. It was senior day. Awkward!...But not really. The place was definitely lively, but I was amazed that the food was still prepared so quickly! Service was alright. Waitress wasn't too attentive, but she was busy. I'm not a fan of pancakes but since ihop was known for them, I ordered it and enjoyed trying the 4 different flavor of syrups they offered, with the butter pecan and original being most memorable for me. I also ordered an omelette with bacon, cheddar, and tomatoes and was surprised to see how generous they were with their portions for ingredients! (You know how some places can be so cheap and give you like one strip of bacon only...) The only complaint I had with my omelette was that it was a bit burnt but it didn't bother me too much. My very first ever ihop experience was good and I'm glad it was spent here because this place seems really lively all the time, offering generous deals throughout the week accommodating all types of people. Thursdays are seniors day, fridays are kids day...etc, that kind of deal. I hope to stop by on a day that'll give me some extra deals and discounts too!

Very small IHOP but that's the way I like it with my family no large crowds and quick service and the food we'll it's IHOP what do you expect for 11 bucks

    (4)
  • Sara S.

Not sure what's with all the negative reviews, but this IHOP is not that bad. This IHOP is pretty much like all IHOPs, so you shouldn't expect much worse or much better. One exception is that this IHOP is not very spacious; for the number of customers that flow in this place everyday, I feel the seating is very limited in number. It gets super packed on the weekends, so the wait could be up to an hour or more. If you have a larger party, it's even harder to get a seat, and the wait may be up to an hour. Honestly, that sort of wait is not worth it if you say you have a bunch of hungry kids waiting in line to get seated. If you have a large group coming here on a weekend, I advise you go elsewhere or else you could end up hating the experience at this IHOP. You can get pretty much get the same food at any other diner, minus the name IHOP applied to it. I usually just come here with my husband, and for 2 people, they have accommodated us rather fast. We've been seated within 30 minutes or less, and there were a few times when the manager has actually put us as priority on his wait list, and we were seated within minutes. For the food, I usually order one of their omelettes which come with a side of pancakes or the 2 eggs with bacon or sausage. Many of their breakfast meals are huge in portion, so I try to go with the ones I know that are manageable. If you have a big appetite, go for it, but potentially you could end up with wasted food because the food here is anything but heavy. The pancakes here are pretty good, but again, it's not much different from pancakes you'd get at small diners. Service is a little tough here; since this place is always so busy, waiters will be running around. Otherwise, I never had an outstanding problem with their service. My food came within reasonable time and waiters will check on you if you need anything else. If you're in the Westchester area in search of IHOP, this one is it.

    (3)
  • Xavier S.

This IHOP is really not bad. It's a little smaller to the ones I've seen in NJ. The only main drawback is the limited amount of parking. When that happens, you have to park in the lot behind the fence which is municipal parking and will need to take out your quarters. The food here (always ordered a breakfast combo) and coffee has been pretty consistent. I never came away and felt like the meal was not satisfying or the coffee was not brewed strong enough. Expect long waits on the weekends, but that goes for most places like this. The staff will do their best to seat you. We've always been a party of 2, so the longest wait time I've seen was around 30 mins roughly. This was okay for me because I didn't have anywhere else to go right afterward and didn't want to go to a regular diner.

Horrible , the front desk young lady sneezed in her hands then passed out menus without washing or applying hand sanitizer . I was given a dirty plate with blueberry residue when I never ordered anything with blueberries, the waitress served me cold coffe , the service took way too long, I asked for a glass of water which I had to remind the waitress 20 minutes later . Se had an attitude after I reminded her . My eggs were under cooked . Over all I give this ihop a big fat zero . The worst ihop I've ever been to .

Are you people serious??? Everytime that I have eaten here, I have gotten sick. I'm not trying to be silly. I have actually felt ill in a bad way. If you want breakfast go to the Fountain Diner accross the street. The food is great.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
